Sparrow Hosts Nigerian Governors

Dr. Slinger Francisco (The Mighty Sparrow) and his wife Margaret hosted a reception at their home, Sparrow's Hideaway on Simeon Rd, Petit Valley, last carnival Saturday night in honor of Governor Donald Duke of Cross River State and Governor Lucky Igbinedion of Edo State, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

 Their Excellencies were among a party of 30 officials that arrived in the country on Wednesday, February 2 to experience Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival celebrations. The group left on Ash Wednesday.

Among those in attendance at the reception were Queen's Council Karl Hudson Phillips, member of Parliament Kenneth Valley, Port of Spain mayor Murchison Brown, Nigerian High Commissioner Arthur Agbe, record producer/store owner Earl Crosby, advertising official Errol Peru, Roderick Ward of the Mas camp Pub, record store owners Diana and Yvonne Rhyner, radio personality Hans Hanoomansingh, and veteran calypsonian Lord Superior (Andrew Marcano).
